Three-year accreditation has been given to SJRMC, SJWH and St. Vincent’s by the Joint Commission, the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting organization in health care.
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital are three-time recipients of the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence, which is the highest recognition awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognizing them for sustained excellence since 1999.
St. Joseph’s remains a state-accredited education facility with 190 House Staff physicians in 14 accredited Residency and Fellowship programs.
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center received the Gold Performance Achievement Award for its achievement in implementing the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association "Get With The Guidelines" quality initiatives for Stroke, becoming 1 of only 5 hospitals nationwide to receive this honor.

St. Joseph's Healthcare System has achieved Level III - Gold Level Recognition for all three "Get With the Guidelines" quality initiatives - Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Disease and Stroke.
- William McDonald, President and CEO, SJHS, was saluted as the Distinguished Honoree at the Operation Link-Up Annual Awards Dinner. Operation Link-Up is a non-profit organization that provides support, direction, and financial assistance to high school students in Paterson and surrounding communities.
- Congressman Bill Pascrell presented William McDonald, President and CEO, SJHS, with an official copy of the Congressional Record, October 15, 2008, highlighting the efforts of the Conference on Behavioral Health and Traumatic Brain Injury held at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
- James Pruden, MD, Director, Emergency Preparedness, EMS, and Telemedicine, was presented with the Key to the City of Paterson during a celebration in recognition of his commitment to the Paterson community.
